Postdoctoral fellow position in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology
A full-time, postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology.
The person in this position will be employed in the HORIZON-MISS-2023-CANCER-01 project: HIT-GLIO - Targeting tumour-host interactions in paediatric malignant gliomas to reinvigorate immunity and improve radio- and immunotherapy efficacy. The international and multidisciplinary consortium, composed of 11 partners from: Poland, France, Germany Netherland, UK, Italy and Canada, search for new ways of treating paediatric malignant gliomas. The researchers using state-of-the art technologies and novel animal models will dissect tumour-host interactions to reveal novel targets allowing to find new ways to eradicate mutated tumour cells, improve efficacy of radiotherapy, and reinvigorate anti-tumour immunity. The successful candidate is expected to join an interdisciplinary team to analyze multimodal data in genomics, single cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq, TCR profiling and spatial transcriptomics. The candidates will have the opportunities to supervise graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to the grant proposal preparation and writing process. A short placement at the McGill University in Montreal Canada is planned in the 2nd year of the project.
Position duties will involve a mixture of research in sc-omics and spatial transcriptomics. biostatistics, bioinformatics. Duties will also require assisting in writing biomedical manuscripts, developing/maintaining statistical software packages and other academic activities.

Position Qualifications: The potential candidates should have: (1) PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, machine learning, or bioinformatics, etc); 2) Proficiency in analysis of multimodal data. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to engage in independent thinking, be meticulous in their attitude towards work, and be collegial as a team member. The candidate must demonstrate scholarship through at least two published first-author manuscripts.
Job type: Full-time employment for 48 month, Hours Per Week: 40
Salary: Gross salary (total employment cost) of 3500 Euro/month (total employment cost is the gross/gross amount including employer's expense, social and health insurances; taxes).
