BioInformatics in Toruń 2024

Welcome

Polish Bioinformatics Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Bioinformatyczne / PTBI) and Faculty
of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun welcome
you to the 24th annual conference “BioInformatics in Torun – BIT24”. 2024 conference
will be held in Torun - the charming medieval hanseatic town in Poland. We plan to held this
meeting in a personal mode, but some lectures will be streamed by the web.


This year BIT24 will be devoted mainly, but not exclusively, to:
“BIT24: Bioinformatics aims Brains – understanding and education”

We invite PhD students to present their work during this year's flash talk session. Ten 5-minute presentations will be selected from those who apply.

 


Planned sessions:

  • Algorithms,

  • AI/ML,

  • Biomodeling,

  • Information flow in Biosystems,

  • Medical aspects and COVID,

  • What is a current state of education in bioinformatics in Poland (BSc, MSc, PhDlevels)?,

  • MISC.

The conference will start after lunch on June 6 (Thursday) and will end around lunch time
on June 8 (Saturday). On Saturday hands-on workshops in bioinformatics are planned.
We would like to discuss all aspects of bioinformatics research closely or remotely related to
human brain, including neuroinformatics, molecular diseases, memory formation, neural
networks, cancer, etc. Important session will be devoted to making bioinformatics to be more
attractive subject in students’ population in Poland.
